Guided Tours
Guided tours are offered daily at 10:0am and 2:00pm. Or feel free to take a self-guided tour of the site at your leisure. Private tours can be arranged depending on staff availablity. Please contact us in advance of your visit.
Group Tours
Hosting over 100 groups each year, from motorcoaches, to school groups, to various community groups, this award winning cultural experience provides a glimpse into the lives and stories of our people. The staff at The Hector Heritage Quay are dedicated and committed to ensuring that your group has an experience that will not be forgotten. We pride ourselves on providing quality guided tours in period costume that truly set the stage of what life was like two centuries ago. Guided tours are available with advance reservation. Several Interpretive Tour Guides are available for larger groups. Tour length: 1-2 hours. Or, ask about our Express Tours of 30 - 45 minutes in length. Parking
Motorcoach and/or bus parking is available directly in front of the entrance to the site. Visitor parking is available in the Visitor Parking lot, or on Caladh Avenue, within walking distance of the attraction.
Bilingual Tour Services
French tours are available upon request.
Accessibility
The Interpretive Centre and ship yard are wheelchair accessible.

Weddings and Receptions
Are you looking for a truly unique location for your wedding or reception? The Hector Heritage Quay, on the Pictou waterfront, offers an ideal setting for your special event. We have spectacular views of historic Pictou harbour and waterfront. From a traditional Scottish wedding on the Ship Hector, to an intimate reception in the main interpretive centre with its magnificent post and beam architecture, the Quay offers a distinctive setting to make your event memorable. The wharf area, with optional tent arrangements, can accommodate many guests. Contact the Hector Heritage Quay for more information about this unique experience.
